Townsend Spring 2024 Newsletter

In the spring edition of our 2024 newsletter, Jeff Townsend shares his thoughts on retirement planning. Jeff hosts a retirement presentation about the basics of retirement planning in February and November each year, but he went further into why the timing of your retirement matters in this piece. At Townsend we want to make sure you are financially prepared for a successful retirement no matter what the market looks like and Jeff shares ways to be best prepared for the costs after retirement. Jeff’s Newsworthy Items section is full of interesting facts. Turns out the different generations have a different idea of how much money would make them happy and the status of the desire to work from home. It’s a fun little blurb that leaves you with some good takeaways.
Sallie Diamond wrote a list of reasons why you should never add your child’s name to your assets. It may seem like a good idea, but there are many this approach is not recommended. Read Sallie’s list and if you still have questions, she is available to answer questions – her email address is shared in her article. Appointments with Sallie are free for Townsend clients so if you haven’t met with Sallie yet, call our office and make an appointment today. John Goltermann shares his read of the market into the first quarter of 2024. John reflects on past markets and how things have changed since then. He also writes about passive investments – to read his thoughts on their impact, read John’s article!
In this issue of the newsletter, we have a new feature called Near and Dear to Our Hearts. In this section, we will highlight non-profits and charities that are special to our clients. This month, a client couple shared SafeHouse Denver, an organization that supports survivors of domestic violence and their children in the Denver community. You can read a little more about their amazing work in our newsletter and visit their website to learn even more. If you have a non-profit organization you support, please share it with Savanna. As always, be sure to check out Cayle’s Connections. This section is full of ideas for how to spend your time now that the weather is becoming a bit warmer and sunnier. Cayle shares a few activities for the days it is sunny and a couple for the rainy April days. Let us know which adventures you take. We would love to see photos!
Each quarter we plan to share a recipe from Townsend. Advisor Terri Thomas cooks a lot for her children and grandchildren, so she always has a recipe to share. In this edition, she shares her homemade pasta dough recipe and the secret to her homemade sauce. Making homemade pasta with your loved ones is such a fun spring activity! We would love to share a recipe with every newsletter. If you have any favorite dishes you would love to share with other Townsend clients, please send them to Savanna@TownsendRetirement.com
